so like. this post is just about me 100%ing mega man battle network 2. we had a podcast episode on it. not a whole lot of new thoughts here.
sometimes, completionism is an albatross, and other times, it's a lovely way to focus play when spending more time on a game past what a basic clear of its win conditions would entail. it's always a tenuous balance with so many things I want to be doing, but I do like going for it for games that don't make it particularly difficult, or for games I enjoy enough that simply clearing them still leaves me craving some more play.
deciding to make a fairly RNG-heavy game a completionist goal for my bingo was not exactly my smartest move, but I really do love the game and seeing every corner of what it had to offer was an appealing idea. it's a shame it kinda bled over into 2025, but 2024 was the year of a lot of bullshit happening in my life, so I won't be taking input on my card's contents at this time.
at time of writing, I still haven't actually finished getting all five stars on the game's title screen, but it's not too much more work now. I don't regret making this choice like I did a couple of other games, and I'm looking forward to playing mmbn3 for my 2025 bingo card. it's a charming little series, a way to bond with my partner Doll, and I'm looking forward to it all.
this whole backlog battleship bingo thing was born out of shitposts between cool folks in my life/discord and I'm really glad people took to it so well! I was hoping to set a good example and get a blackout bingo last year but. fuck me running life didn't wanna cooperate. this year I'm gonna get it though.
