  if I had a nickel for every surprise expansion to a game I loved from 2024 announced in 2026, I'd have at least two nickels.

  I keep stumbling over characters named seren or similar. I can't explain it. moon's haunting me.

  I don't know what to say about this one. for spoiler reasons, obviously, and for "don't post about your mental health on the internet" reasons, in mostly equal measure. this is your warning for both of those.

  interpreting art is a skill I don't have a lot of confidence in. 

  this is due to be an underwhelming post. major spoilers.

  what's in a genre anyway?

  this year, instead of confronting my backlog, I'm confronting my inability to take recommendations from my friends without breaking out in hives. speaking of hives, banjo-kazooie is alright.

it turns out I had played this game before. 

where do I start with this game? probably at the beginning.

what does a decade mean? to you, to me, to a piece of media?

I guess I'm glad, in an oblique sense, that this game exists. I'm not glad I decided to play it.

  while plumbing the grungy depths of assorted hell dimensions, I was left wishing the game itself had some more depth instead.

  this is it? man. whatever. this was so not worth the hype. check our episode on it. no further notes.

I think this game would probably have more to offer someone else.

  so the first game cleared on my 2025 bingo card is a hentai metroidvania. nice.

so like. this post is just about me 100%ing mega man battle network 2. we had a podcast episode on it . not a whole lot of new thoughts here.

there's something special to me about the sprite-based era of ps2 rpgs.
